The Meeting House is situated at the junction of Rainsford Road
and the Parkway dual carriageway.
From the rail station, take the front exit onto Duke
Street, turn right under the rail arch, and proceed past the bus station, Civic
Centre and County Hotel (all on the left) to the junction with Parkway. The
Meeting House is directly across the dual carriageway. Car parking The Meeting
House has a small car park (11 spaces) which can be reached from the front
entrance off Rainsford Road, or from Cedar Avenue West, through normally locked
gates.
Car parks: There are two public car parks near the
Meeting House, both of which are pay-and-display. One is off Waterhouse
Lane/Rainsford Lane, and is accessed from Rainsford Lane/Coval Lane south of
the Meeting House. The other is accessed from Elms Drive, North East of the
Meeting House. Essex County Council have a car park adjacent to the County
Hotel, accessed from Rainsford Road. This is used by ECC on weekdays until 6pm,
but at other times parking may be available.
Coming from London or Colchester on the A12: Leave the
A12 at junction 15, then at roundabout take 2nd exit onto A414 (signposted
Chelmsford, Harlow) At Widford Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A1114
(signposted Town Centre) Entering Chelmsford then immediately at roundabout
take the 1st exit onto Westway - A1016 (signposted Widford Industrial Area,
Crematorium) At traffic signals continue forward onto Waterhouse Lane - A1016
(signposted Town Centre) At traffic signals turn left onto Parkway. To enter
Meeting car park from front, turn left at next traffic signals - A1060
(signposted Sawbridgeworth), and immediately cross traffic into Meeting House,
or continue to petrol station on right and turn back. To enter from Cedar
Avenue West, after turning left into Parkway continue to next traffic lights
taking left lane, cross pedestrian lights and take left turning into Cedar
Avenue. To reach entrance to Coval Lane car park, coming down Waterhouse Lane
turn right at the fire station, and the car park is on the left. To reach Elms
Drive car park, after turning left into Parkway, continue over next traffic
lights, taking left hand lane, and continue in left lane through next traffic
lights, and into Broomfield Road. Elms Drive is first turning on
right.
Coming from Harlow and Ongar on A414 At Widford
roundabout (Widford church on right) take first exit onto A1114, then follow
directions as from A12.
Coming from Braintree or Dunmow on A130 Follow A130
along Essex Regiment Way until roundabout with 3rd exit onto the A1016
(signposted Chelmsford) - take this exit. Second exit at next roundabout. First
exit at next roundabout following A1016 along Chelmer Valley Road At traffic
signals turn right (one-way) (signposted Basildon, Southend, Harlow, London).
To reach Elms Road car park, keep to right hand lane around the gyratory system
through next traffic lights. After traffic lights take the far left lane past
the King Edward VI school, through pedestrian lights, Elms Drive is first
turning on right. To reach the Meeting House or Coval Lane car park, follow
London signs through next two traffic lights.Then a) To reach Meeting House,
keep to right and take right hand feeder lane for next traffic lights. Turn
right onto the A1060 (signposted Sawbridgeworth). Turn immediately right across
traffic into Meeting House, or turn at petrol station on right. b) To reach
Coval Lane car park, keep to centre lane and follow signs to London through
traffic lights into Rainsford Lane and take second exit on the left just befoer
the fire station. Entrance to car park is on the left in Coval Lane.
Coming from Bishops Stortford on A1060 Enter Chelmsford
and shortly after petrol station, almost at the traffic lights, is the entrance
to the Meeting House on the left. To enter from Cedar Avenue West, take the
left feeder lane at the traffic lights onto the dual carriageway, and then take
the first exit left a short distance along the dual carriageway. To reach
entrance of Coval Lane car park, turn right at traffic lights outside Meeting
House, and follow signs to London through traffic lights into Rainsford Lane
and take second exit on the left just befoer the fire station. Entrance to car
park is on the left in Coval Lane. To reach Elms Drive car park, turn left at
traffic lights outside Meeting House taking left hand lane, and continue in
left lane through next traffic lights, and into Broomfield Road. Elms Drive is
